On Friday, Oaklawn Park will kick off their racing season with the 37th running of the $100,000 Dixie Belle Stakes. The six-furlong contest has drawn a field of eleven three-year-old fillies.

On Friday, Oaklawn Park will kick off their racing season with the 37th running of the $100,000 Dixie Belle Stakes. The six-furlong contest has drawn a field of eleven three-year-old fillies.

Promise Me Silver has been installed as the morning line favorite at odds of 5-2 for trainer William Brett Calhoun. A gray daughter of Silver City, she will be putting her four-race undefeated streak on the line and has won three consecutive stakes races. She has delivered as the favorite in her last two races and will get a jockey change to M. Clifton Berry for the first time. Promise Me Silver will break from post position nine.

Toutsie Rules making stakes debut 

Michael Stidham will saddle the second choice, Toutsie Rules, at 3-1 odds on the morning line. A dark bay daughter of Roman Ruler, she will be making her stakes debut after a pair of victories. After breaking her maiden in her debut at Keeneland, she came back to win against optional claiming competition as the favorite at Fair Grounds last time out. Regular rider James Graham will be aboard and they will break from the rail.

Super Saks a maiden taking on stakes company

Also in the field and a longshot at 30-1 on the morning line is Super Saks for Hall of Fame trainer D. Wayne Lukas. Purchased for $250,000 as a yearling, the gray daughter of Sky Mesa has yet to finish ahead of a single rival from three starts and will cut back to a sprint. Since finishing twelfth in her most recent effort, she has worked two consecutive bullets and will have Terry Thompson aboard from post position five.
