$50,000 Lookout Stakes Draws Field of Eight

On Thursday at Delta Downs, the featured race is the $50,000 Lookout Stakes. Restricted to fillies and mares bred in Louisiana, the seven and a half furlong contest has drawn a field of eight.

Tunica Girl will be making her first start against stakes competition and has been installed as the morning line favorite at 5-2 for trainer Karl Broberg. A four-year-old daughter of Gold Tribute, she has been on the board in nine of her twelve starts this year and has four victories to her credit. She was last seen delivering as the favorite over a field of seven rivals in an optional claiming race at Delta. Diego Saenz will remain aboard from post position four.

Unlimited Lil Lady going for third straight win

Second choice at 3-1 on the morning line is Unlimited Lil Lady for trainer Ron Faucheux. A four-year-old daughter of Harborage, the bay filly is trying to earn her third consecutive victory after back to back wins at Delta Downs and has won a total of four of her fifteen career starts. She is cutting back slightly in distance after winning at one mile last time out. Andre Ramgeet, aboard for both recent victories, will be back in the irons from the outside post.

I Love Pickles trying for breakthrough stakes win

Also in the field at morning line odds of 5-1 is the veteran mare, I Love Pickles. Trained by Allen Landry, the seven-year-old daughter of Planet Earth has won three of her ten starts this year and improved her lifetime record to twelve wins from 52 starts. She is fresh off of a victory from off of the pace against optional claiming competition. Regular rider Gerard Melancon will be in the irons and they are scheduled to break from post position three.
