The $200,000 Grade II Saratoga Special Stakes August 10 at the Spa follows the Grade II Adirondack and features a field of eleven in the six and a half furlong event on the main track for two year-old colts. 
Three-year-olds will take to the turf on Saturday at Del Mar in the 74th running of the Grade 3 La Jolla Handicap. With a purse of $150,000, the race will be contested at a mile and a sixteenth and has drawn a field of six sophomores. 
Everyone not named Palace Malice could be running for minor awards in the 1.5 million dollar Grade I Whitney August 2 at Saratoga. 
On Saturday at Del Mar, the top West Coast fillies and mares will face off in the 44th running of the Grade 1 Clement L. Hirsch. The mile and a sixteenth race offers a purse of $300,000 and has attracted a field of seven. 
On Thursday, Del Mar will kick off their boutique summer meet with the $100,000 Oceanside Stakes, the featured race on their ten race card which has drawn a full field of twelve with one waiting in the wings on the also-eligible list. The race will be contested at one mile on the turf and is restricted to three-year-olds. 
With the closing of the storied Hollywood Park, many of the marquee stakes races have moved to new locations. The Hollywood Gold Cup will be run for the first time as the Gold Cup at Santa Anita this and the $500,000 Grade 1 stakes has drawn a field of seven for the mile and a quarter contest. 
On Thursday at Delaware Park, a field of thirteen three-year-olds is scheduled to take to the turf in the $50,000 Stanton Stakes. Run at a mile and a sixteenth, the Stanton is the sixth race of Delaware Park’s eight-race card. 
Fillies and mares will go to the gate on Saturday at Monmouth Park in the $100,000 Eatontown Stakes, a mile and a sixteenth contest scheduled to be run on the turf. The race has drawn a field of nine, including several fillies who began their careers overseas. 
This Saturday at Belmont Park, eleven fillies and mares are entered to compete in the $150,000 Bed ‘O Roses Handicap (G3). The race will be contested at seven furlongs on the main track and will feature some of the top sprint fillies and mares on the East Coast.
