Ten Set to Line Up for $75,000 Valley Forge Stakes
On Tuesday at Parx, the featured race is the $75,000 Valley Forge Stakes. The seven-furlong stakes race has attracted a field of ten colts and geldings.
David Jacobson will send out the morning line favorite, Tenango, at odds of 5-2. The four-year-old gelding has been on the board in five of his eight starts this year and has six career victories to his credit. He is going for his third consecutive victory after a pair of wins against optional claiming competition and has had a recorded workout since his last race. Frankie Pennington will be aboard and they will break from post four.
Bama Bound making stakes debut
Second choice at 7-2 on the morning line is Bama Bound for trainer Ramon Preciado. Purchased for $120,000 as a yearling, the dark bay gelded son of Rock Hard Ten will be making his stakes debut and has seven wins from sixteen starts this year. He was last seen winning an optional claiming race at Parx by a nose and has five local victories total. J.D. Acosta, aboard last time out, will be back in the irons from post position eight.
Praetereo going for first stakes win
Also in the field and a longshot at 12-1 on the morning line is Praetereo for trainer Michael Moore. A six-year-old son of Giant’s Causeway, he was third behind Bama Bound last time out after a stumble at the start compromised his chances. He has gone winless from ten starts this year but has five total career victories. Irad Ortiz, Jr. will be aboard and they are scheduled to break from post position five as Praetereo goes for his first stakes win.
